SPRING MUSICAL

Performances: Friday evening May 14th. and Sunday afternoon 15th
Matinee and early evening on Sunday, June 12th.

CHICAGO “Cell Block Tango”
(Grades 9-12) and for Moms of all ages!
Saturday 4:00-6:00 January 8, 15, 22.
Each student will receive a monologue from “Cell Block Tango” from
the Broadway play CHICAGO,— complete with choreography! The last
class will culminate in a performance.

A Hands-On, “How To” for Budding
Filmmakers.
Saturday 2:00-4:00 January 22nd (15 weeks)
Students will learn all aspects of independent filmmaking in this course.
Each will write their own script, then
be able to direct, act in, and
perform other technical aspects of their peer’s short films.
They will learn the art
of storytelling, screenwriting format, camera technique,
directing for film, editing, and more as they craft their
individual
visions into 10 minute masterpieces.

ACTION!
On Camera Audition Technique for Actors *Interview required.
(Grades 6-12) Saturday 12:00-2:00 February 12
Students will learn how to audition for film, sitcoms, soaps and commercials.
Each week they will get instant
feedback as they watch their auditions
played back for them. At the end of the course, each student will be
given
a final tape that tracks their growth over the entire period.

FIND, PERFORM AND PERFECT THE MONOLOGUE
(Grades 7-12) Wednesday 5:30-7:30 February 9 (15 weeks)
When auditioning, whether for theatre or college, a student must have
a repertoire of at least 3 monologues:
A comedy, a drama and a classical.
In this class we will cover monologue selection through monologue
performance
using Stanislavsky’s principles. Students will have Shakespeare
de-mystified. They will learn all about
iambic pentameter, verse and
prose, and what those funny sounding words mean. They will finish the
class
with 3 monologues that they can feel confident about performing
and auditioning at a moment’s notice.

COMMERCIAL DANCE TECHNIQUE
(Grades 6-12) Saturday 4:00-6:00 March 5 (6
weeks)
Each week, students will focus on a different form of commercial dance
from: Music Video, Hip Hop,
Commercial/Television (Ipod, Visa and Ebay
commercials,) Industrials—combination of specialty, jazz,
acrobatic,-Musical
Theatre,—and Improvising for films, commercials and television.
In addition, a mock musical video will be made for each student to take
home! *Interview required

BROADWAY AUDITION
(Grades 6-12) Monday—3:30-5:30
The first five sessions will consist of “Act The Song” with
*Michelle Millardi- Belle from BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.
Students must come
to the first class with one or two songs already prepared. When auditioning,
it’s simply not
enough to sing the song. Michelle will elevate
each student’s audition by teaching them how to capture the song’s
essence and become one with it’s message. *During the second half
of Broadway Audition, each student will
showcase their work in the form
of a moderated audition in front of cast members from such shows as WICKED,
HAIRSPRAY,RENT, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and more!! A once-in-a lifetime opportunity!!

THE ART OF THE IMPROV
(Grades 5-7) Monday—5:30-7:00
Each student will learn character and scene development through improvisational
techniques and advanced theatre games.
We will be strengthening their
spontaneity and intuition, sharpening their focus, articulation and listening
skills.
There will be a strong emphasis placed on the creation of the fourth
wall. Students will demonstrate their
mastery of the improve, a la “What’s
My Line,” in their final
performance.

WEDNESDAYS
LIVING THE ROLE
(Grades 7-12) Wednesday—3:30-5:30
“Love the art in yourself, not yourself in the art.” Konstantin
Stanislavski
Students will learn to create a character through “being” as
opposed to “performing.” This class will embrace
the timeless
principles of Stanislavski, allowing each student to go beyond acting
the role and truly becoming
one with their character. Emphasis will be
placed on articulation, script dissection, the psychophysical process,
emotional recall, communion, focus of attention, the magic “if,” and
the fourth will, to name a few!
The final performance will include a
scene and/or monologue from classical or modern theatre.
Not only will
each student experience “Living The Role,” they will truly
be impacted for life!!

Your child will learn to create a character through the use of improvisational
techniques and theatre games.
We will be strengthening child will learn
how to articulate effectively on stage, and create
the fourth wall,-setting
a foundation for the years to come!!

FRIDAYS
FROM DREAM TO STAGE
(Grades 3-4) 4:00-5:30
Through the use of improvisational techniques and theatre games, each
child will be able to develop their original ideas,
into a performance.
Together, they will watch their vision transform into scenes, monologues,
a song or a dance.
They will learn how to express their ideas using theatre
as their medium, build a fourth wall, listen and relate to their
environment
and their fellow actors. They’ll learn simple blocking and how
memorize their own dialogue. Our final
performance will showcase each
original masterpiece!!

MASTERING MIDDLE SCHOOL
“Life Is A Cabaret”
(Grades 6-8) 5:30-7:00
Students will choose from a variety of songs/or scenes from musical theatre,
according to their strengths and interests.
Emphasis will be placed on
articulation, movement, staging, beats and objectives, and the creation
of the fourth wall.
Each student will ultimately experience privacy in
a public space. The final performance will culminate
in a Broadway Cabaret
showcasing each child’s passions and talents!!
